Welfare Benefits Advice

We offer benefits advice, including Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance and Council Tax Benefit. We help with disability benefits checks, completing claim forms and tribunals. We liaise with fellow professionals within the voluntary and statutory sector and refer individuals to appropriate agencies where appropriate. Where people are unable to attend appointments at our office because of their medical condition, we will arrange a home visit.

Information Advice

We can advise on issues such as Blue Badge parking, disability discrimination, work and training, education, housing, transport, Motability, leisure, sport, health services and RADAR toilet keys. We also have access to details of a wide range of other services for disabled people and can refer clients to more suitable sources of help where appropriate.

Wheelchair Hire & RADAR Keys

DaB provides a short term wheelchair hire service and also acts as an outlet for people wishing to acquire RADAR keys - to access the network of accessible toilets available across the country.

Holiday Information Service

The DaB Holiday Information and Advice Service helps disabled people with information on accessible and appropriate holidays in the UK and abroad. Clients who are unable to afford a holiday can also apply to the scheme for support in applying to certain trusts and charities.

A similar service for carers - The Bradford Carers' Holiday Scheme - helps with the funding, planning and practical organising of holidays for carers. To be eligible to apply for a grant, a carer needs to be providing regular and substantial support to a person who has physical or learning disabilities or mental health problems. Carers can go on holiday with or without the person they care for.
