Volunteer For Us!

Volunteers contribute to the work of DaB and DeB in a number of ways and help us deliver much needed services to the local community. There are many reasons to volunteer - learn new skills, share your experience, make a difference to the community or simply meet new people. So if you are interested in the work that we do and think you can make a contribution, we want to hear from you.

Some Volunteer opportunities are short-term, perhaps providing experience to someone wanting to return to work after a period of absence. Others may suit someone retired or unable to work but who still feel they have skills to share. We currently have the following opportunities available:

  • Assistance in the Disability Equipment Centre
  • Demonstrators and drivers for Gadget Roadshows

Full 'on the job' training is provided.
Agreed travel and meal expenses will be reimbursed.

Voluntary Management Committee Members

We wish to increase our management committee team by appointing people who share an understanding and interest in the issues that affect disabled people. We are looking for people with direct personal experience of disability.

If you feel that you have relevant skills to offer as a committee member and director of the organisation and you can spare a minimum of 3 hours every 4 to 6 weeks to attend meetings, we would like to hear from you.

In the case of both volunteers and voluntary Management Committee members we are committed to welcoming people from the widest possible diversity of background, culture and experience. We particularly welcome applications from disabled people.
